When used as a repeater
When the DVXi RCR is configured as a repeater the signal transport is basically doubled. For instance, if the existing cable distance for CATx is 140m, the K471 will act as a receiving device up to 140m away and then transmit the signal up to an additional 140m to the final destination.
(140m in X 140m out = 280m total) The same calculations can be used for fiber cable as well. When used as a cross-repeater As a cross-repeater, the DVXi RCR unit acts as a media converter, taking CATx at the local site and converting the signal to a fiber transport. At the final destination, the fiber transport is then converted back to CATx. Both Singlemode and Multimode cabling is supported. The DVXi RCR unit supports the DVXi range of extenders for DVI and KVM applications.
